Cairo, here I am!

Ok, it's been a while since my last post now, I went to Italy for a month to visit my girlfriend and not too much blogging got done there. Sorry about that! (The late posting, not the visit to see you, Vale!! ;)

Anyway the Globestrutter has now hit Cairo!! I got here yesterday and right from the start it is clear that Arabic will certainly be more of a challenge than any Western language. I've tried to learn the alphabet in advance but between knowing the letters in their own right and reading entire sentences the difference is huge. I suspect it will take a very VERY long time before I have worked up my speed and vocabulary enough be able to read the running text line on Al-Jazeera, which of course is my only goal with this trip. :-) But I am also very VERY stubborn so at least I've got that going for me, which is nice. I also have free internet access so you can expect more frequent updates in the future, hopefully I'll get some pictures up within the next days. Oh, by the way, all my new Egyptian "friends" who want to show me their shops, give me their business cards and show me the letters their Swedish "friends" sent them, say hello to everyone too. ;-)

We want pictures of the globestrutter.

On a camel
By the pyramids
With a big Danish flag
In the center of a mob.

Without it the experience wouldn't be complete.
