Dad's Birthday Trip
Our fancy hotel.
Dad walking through the markets in Sousse. Doesn't he look exotic?? :-P
The mausoleum of Ben Ali in Monastir was huge and cool.
One of the Minarets from inside the actual Mausoleum.
Dad decided to buy some new cool (?) sunglasses. Oh my god...
Breakfast on the balcony.
After spending the day on the beach we had an excellent dinner in the port of Kantaoui.
El-Jem, the biggest roman amphitheater in Africa.
Contemplating past times...
Me making some advertisement in Tunisia for Bolivian soccer. :-
Shopping for spices and other stuff at a local market...
These underground carved-out huts was where people used to live in the old times, nowadays though there are only a few families that still actually live there. The blue signs outside are for protection against evil spirits or possibly evil tourists
After the huts it was time for a camel ride
Scary beasts
So that's why they never found Osama Bin Laden.. He was in Bäckefors the whole time!! :-|
On our way back we crossed the salt desert.
Never thought I would see my dad in a photo like this... :-)
Deserts are great... I love them!
Playing in the sand dunes with the jeeps.
The Star Wars set which was built up in the middle of the desert.. "Use the force, Obi-Wan!"
The great mosque in Kairouan, the last stop on our bus trip.
My dad insisted on taking pictures of me as well all the time, even if it was his birthday trip.
The last night I even managed to convince him to try out the sheesha, even if he only took one puff.
It was a long and tiring trip for my poor dad. Or was it maybe the effect of the sheesha?? :-D
