La Noche del 10

Did you ever ask yourself what happened to Maradona after his famous "Hand of God" and cocaine addiction? No? Neither did I, but then one day here on Argentinian television, when our whole little house had an empanada night, a familiar face showed up on the screen. Was it.. nooo.. could it really be... HIM!?? Turned out it was, apparently Diego after his little episodes cleaned himself up, lost weight, and got himself his own TV show called "La Noche del 10", in which he tells anecdotes from his soccer years, gets celebrated and applauded by everyone and talks to various invited famous people. All accompanied by music, light shows, smoke and dancing half-naked women of course.

"Don't you all just love me? Yeeeessss, I love you too!! I love me! You love me! Everybody loves me!!"

Anyway, last night was the last episode and since Diego is a big fan of social revolution (he protested against Bush along with Hugo Chavez during the meeting in Mar del Plata this week) he actually had a quite interested interview with Fidel Castro, who I must say at his 80 something years of age struck me as incredibly intelligent! It's fascinating to be able to see him and hear what he is saying first hand now that my Spanish is good enough. He also met with Mike Tyson in a weird live interpreted interview, which I used as an opportunity to try out my new camera!! That's right, I got myself a new one!!! It is tiny and green and above all it was CHEAP. But I have to say I really think it is not that bad for the price. At least I can use it to take pictures for the blog now until I get back to Sweden and can buy myself a better one. Ta-ta!

Diego vs. Tyson! I know who I'll bet my money on anyway, given how miniscule Maradona looks next to everyone else in his show. :-P

"Well, ehhh, ya know Diego, I can't really understand what this interpreter is saying, but what the heck, as long as everyone is smiling and applauding at me I guess it's fine anyway. You're tiny, by the way!"
