Cuzco & Machu Picchu Pics

The green (coca?) fields of Pisaq, Peru.

Old inca water pipe. The unsuspecting visitor might think it is still functional after all these years, but following the streams of water to the source you will find a cunningly planted green hose...

Small subsection of my Peruvian fan club. Everywhere I went there were school trips that wanted to take pictures of the odd blonde gringo. Kind of fun in the beginning but after 40 or so shots stardom lost its glory..

Ruins in Ollantaytambo, where I stayed a night before taking the train to Machu Picchu.

The mandatory Perurail train photo. I don't think I have seen one single travel story of Machu Picchu that didn't include this very regular but maybe bluer than normal train. Funny thing is that I ran into the indian-looking dude in the photo later in Aguas Calientes, where he very generously saved my cash-less ass by lending me some soles for the bus and entrance tickets. :-)

Llama being inspired by Machu Picchu.

Yours truly feeling one with the llama.

The tall mysterious cloud-embedded mountains. Almost felt like Che Guevara sitting there on the top writing in his little diary. Only that I write a blog instead. :-P

The old temple or something. You can see it was holy because of the intricately assembled stones, the roundness of it, and in general the holier a place was, the larger the rocks used to build it would be.

A little mountain relax.

And... back in Cuzco again, fresh and rich with inspiration and newly withdrewn Nuevos Soles that I used to pay back James with and buy him dinner.
